Soul of Snowdonia - part 1 of 1

In these recessionary times it is refreshing to see a business expanding! We featured the Snowdonia landscape work of John Rowell in Imagemaker in May 2013 and since that time he has been busy as a bee. A new gallery opened at the Moel Siabod Cafe, Capel Curig on Saturday 25 January. Soul of Snowdonia is situated in the heart of Snowdonia at the route centre of Capel Curig which gives ready access to all the major ranges of the region. It is a shared vision between the photographers of 'Nick Livesey Mountain Images' and 'Chasing the light Photography' together with the 'Moel Siabod Cafe'. The aim is to provide a focus for outdoor and photographic opportunities with a new gallery hanging space to both feature and sell the work of invited artists - the only proviso is the restriction of topic to North Wales and Snowdonia.

The opening was made by Ken Scott who followed with a talk on his trip along the high-level Pyrenean route from The Atlantic to the Mediterranean. This was attended by 80 invited guests.

The cafe is open from 7:30am until 6:00pm (8:00pm in summer) and the ambition is to expand both the photography and focus. It makes a fabulous place for a party to meet up at the start of a day's photography (bacon butties keep you going well into the day!). Watch www.soulofsnowdonia.co.uk for upcoming delights, but do call if you are passing!
